The Superintendent provides overall leadership for the field operations on each assigned construction project. Including the coordination, planning, and scheduling, while providing oversight for projecting field activities to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame.

 

As our Superintendent you will:

  • Be well versed in all scopes, systems, and assemblies including site work, structural, concrete, enclosure, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

  • Schedule and coordinate work activities to ensure project goals are achieved.

  • Manage all subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure material is delivered as scheduled and sufficient labor is provided to support the project schedule.

  • Actively manage risk, safety, and quality to ensure expectations are met.

  • Regularly provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration

  • Work to develop best practices with our organization and the Project Management team.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct procurement, scheduling, and supervision of the project, staff oversight and mentoring, risk management, safety and quality control.

  • Lead weekly construction coordination meetings for each project.

  • Reading and interpreting specifications and plans

  • Examining and inspecting work progress and site.

  • Conducting weekly safety meetings and safety audits to ensure work is performed safely.

  • Ensure the submission of field reports documenting personnel, production, safety, and quality performance.

  • Provide ongoing reporting.

  • Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties.

  • Assist with business development initiatives to secure future projects.

  • Manage and develop Team members.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of commercial construction methods, processes and management practices; effective leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication skills; and be organized, efficient and responsive to the needs of each team member and our external clients.

 

Position Requirements: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Construction/Engineering and 5 years experience or an equivalent of 10 + years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent for commercial construction projects with increased responsibilities including leadership experience on construction projects. Experience interpreting and understanding construction plans and designs. Basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Office.

An employee must be able to communicate effectively in a typical field environment with an above standard level of noise. Occasional sitting, bending, walking, and lifting is also required. The employee will be required to visit multiple construction job sites, which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures. In addition, the employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites. This includes climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, walking long distances, and climbing stairs.
